ZTE to Supply HSPA+ Equipment for KPN's 3G Expansion in Germany, Belgium

China's ZTE has been selected by Dutch telecommunications service provider KPN for its 3G expansion and network infrastructure upgrade projects in Germany and Belgium, according to a press release by KPN on December 24. As per the terms of the deal, ZTE is expected to provide HSPA+ (Evolved High-Speed Packet Access) equipment in support of network expansion and upgrade to be carried out by E-Plus Mobilfunk of Germany and BASE of Belgium, both KPN subsidiaries. ZTE's equipment is envisaged to enable both E-Plus Mobilfunk and BASE to provide customers a maximum download speed of 21.6Mbps. Further details as to the financial aspect of the deal have not been revealed.
